Partnering with the U.S. Solar Industry
The RTCs welcome PV system designers and module manufacturers interested in increasing the bankability of their products at reduced cost. Each RTC will work closely with its partners to develop testing and monitoring protocols and to conduct a cost-benefit analysis that will balance monitoring costs against the performance data needed to ensure reliability. Funding for the testing infrastructure, baseline monitoring equipment, and complete validation testing and analysis is provided through the DOE SunShot Initiative. Companies wishing to have their products validated and tested at an RTC should contact Laurie Burnham at Sandia National Laboratories
If accepted into the RTC program, companies begin by engaging in a pre-installation phase that includes an overview of regional requirements and a determination of the optimum monitoring/validation desired.
